SAVA SVIMA!
SAVA FOR EVERYBODY!
30. 9. – 6. 10.
30. 9. – 6. 10.
The project SAVA FOR EVERYBODY! created a temporary archive within the UrbanFestival and it contains a selection of relevant documentation about the activities, discussions and projections about Sava and its banks. By using the collected materials and with the help of the copy machine and the archive staff, the visitors have the possibility to create a sort of “author catalogue” about Sava’s history. The visitors are also welcome to add their own documentation to the archive.
Parallel with the archive’s activities, there will be four afternoon tea parties open to public, at which visitors will have the chance to discuss with experts the growing problems concerning the Sava and its utilization. The tea parties will be simultaneously stenographed and audio recorded in order to be directly added to the archive materials. This will enable the participants to add, if they wish, the transcripts of certain discussions to their catalogues at the end of the meeting. The archive will be presented September 29, at 9 p.m. with a short presentation of its space and collected materials.
Sava’s Afternoon Tea Parties (6 p.m. – 7,30 p.m.):
1. The Sava Free Zone [September 30]
The river banks as the place of pastime and freedom. The topic is the current utilization of the banks and their profiling into a specific urban landscape intended to be used primarily for the recreation and relaxation of the public. The discussion starts with a short historical overview and analysis of the current situation and will move towards the projections for the future in the sense of intensifying the Sava’s existing identity.
2. Sava City [October 3]
The visions of the Sava and its role in the city. The topic is the history of urban competitions and different proposals in planning. The discussion deals with numerous open questions – from attitudes towards the Sava as an obstacle in connecting Zagreb with New Zagreb, to perceiving the banks as a place for public representative and institutional architecture and, consequentially, locations of the city’s future key landmarks.
3. Sava for Everybody [October 4]
The right to the Sava? The topic is the accessibility of the river’s banks in the sense of the citizens’ participation in making the decisions about its utilization, and, alternatively, in the sense of concrete physical connections and the free flow of this city area. The discussion focuses on the mechanisms and strategies of city authorities in encouraging the banks’ activation – which types of urban parameters and political decisions would facilitate the access to the banks and develop their interactivity.
4. The Sava’s New Tendencies [October 6]
Individual and collective visions of the banks’ development and utilization. The aim is to create a discussion that will involve individuals, entrepreneurs and organizations whose private projects and initiatives supplement institutional plans for the development of the Sava.
Analog was co-founded in 2007 by Dafne Berc and Luciano Basauri. It was intended to be an organization which would focus on exploring the points of interest common to architecture and wider urban issues. Analog is also concerned with particular cultural aspects which require attention and are not entirely covered by established institutions and/or corporate culture in general. These aspects rise from the architectural professional background and focus on manmade environments and local development in relation to their urban qualities – where sustainability is not approached from a technological point of view, but rather through the re-qualification of consolidated (existing) territories and productive landscapes.
SAVA FOR EVERYBODY! is a joint project of Analog and UrbanFestival with the following collaborators: Luciano Basauri, Dafne Berc, Ana Kutleša, Ivana Radenović and Sonja Soldo.
